“Stay Awake”: Homeless Teens

Simple, wise thoughts from my friend Pastor Mary Brown about spotting and engaging homeless youth:

“Youth who are homeless often will hang out in malls or other warm public places. If you are leaving a mall after hours and see a youth still there, s/he may need help. If a youth is hungry, s/he sometimes will walk by the bulk bins at the grocery store and fill his/her pockets hoping no one will see. Tonight on what I thought would be a quick trip to the grocery store, I encountered a youth doing just that. When I asked if she needed help, she quietly said, ‘Yes.’ There are many resources across the country for youth who are experiencing homelessness. Wherever you live, if you need help for yourself or someone you know or have met, call my personal cell phone anytime. No youth should be without a home.”

  1. I am really impressed with your writing talents and also with the layout to
your weblog. Is this a paid subject or did you modify it yourself?
Either way stay up the excellent high quality writing, it is rare to look a great weblog like this one

    1. Thank you so much. The layout is a modified version of one that WordPress offers to subscribers. I was out of commission recuperating from an accident for two years, but I’m trying to get back into this. Thank you for the encouragement!
